The custom Screeps OS developed in previous iterations was deployed in early October. The AI began with a fresh spawn and gradually stabilized. As early edge-case bugs were resolved, system reliability increased substantially.
The AI is now fully autonomous up to RCL 3, managing its own creep lifecycle and initial expansion. Beyond RCL 3, high-level room layout planning is guided manually while construction and maintenance remain automated.
Architecture & Economy Overview
Resource Harvesting
The economic pipeline utilizes continuous drop-mining with dedicated haulers and upgraders. Each active room currently runs a workforce of roughly 18 creeps (8 upgraders, 4 haulers, 4 builders, and 2 static harvesters), consuming approximately 6 CPU per room.
Defensive Posture
Towers automatically engage hostile creeps upon entry into room airspace. While passive, this approach reliably safeguards domestic infrastructure from standard NPC invasion waves.
Multi-Room Expansion
Having attained GCL 3, the AI handles automated room claiming. A dedicated claimer unit navigates to the target room and claims the controller, followed by auxiliary builders dispatched from adjacent bases to establish the initial spawn. Two additional rooms were successfully settled by mid-November.
Performance Milestones
All three active colonies have reached RCL 7. Global Control Level (GCL) has reached 6, unlocking capacity for three additional territories.

December 2022 was our strongest competitive month, achieving a global leaderboard rank of 388 with 18.5 million control points. The code up to this milestone is available on GitHub here.
Roadmap Ahead
- Optimize per-room CPU consumption down to 5ms to support further expansion.
- Introduce dynamic creep body optimization tailored to available energy capacity.
- Automate tower repair prioritization.
- Upgrade to dedicated container and link-based energy distribution networks.
